With 234-193 votes strictly on party line, the Democrat controlled United States House of Representatives passed a massive electoral reforms that will be killed by the Republicans controlled  in the Upper Senate.

The electoral reform Bill made  provisions for automatic voter registration, election day a national holiday for Federal workers and lowering voting age from 18 to 16years.

Fortunately, the Democrats will not be able to change the electoral  college system to simple popular votes due to constitution amendment process.
