After three stock market holidays in the festive month of October, November will have just one trading holiday on 8th November to mark Guru Nanak Jayanti.
The currency markets will remain shut, while the commodities segment will be closed in the morning session but will operate in the evening trade i.e. from 5-11:30 pm.
In this calendar year, there were 13 trading holidays and this would be the last holiday of 2022.
These holidays are declared by stock exchanges well in advance.
“The exchange may, however, close the market on days other than the scheduled holidays or may open the market on days originally declared as holidays. The exchange may also extend, advance or reduce trading hours when it deems fit and necessary,” according to a NSE note on stock market holidays.
