Lamar Odom, who remains in a medically induced coma, gave his family and the Kardashians a ‘glimmer of hope’ when he squeezed Kim Kardashian’s hand in hospital, according to reports.
The former NBA star remains in a critical condition after being found unresponsive in a Nevada brothel, with the Kardashian family suspending activity on their new apps during this tough time.
According to Entertainment Tonight, along with squeezing Kim’s hand Lamar’s eyes also fluttered, suggesting he may have made small signs of improvement.
However, the site goes on to report that the 35-year-old has been placed on dialysis as his kidneys have started to fail, something that is a main concern for doctors.
TMZ also claims that it was Khloe’s hand that he squeezed, and that it may have been an involuntary action.
Four of Lamar’s organs are continuing to fail according to TMZ, with one source claiming: “The doctors are concerned it has been too long that he’s been in this condition and now it’s not looking good.”
His children, who travelled to Las Vegas to be with Lamar, have since released a statement thanking everyone for their support.
Destiny, 17, and Lamar Odom Jr, 13, said: “Thanks for your outpouring of prayers and support for our dad. We are here with our family and friends.
“We appreciate everyone respecting our privacy at this time. We ask for your continued prayers.”
Kris Jenner, along with Kim and Kourtney Kardashian and Kylie Jenner, have flown back to LA for prior commitments (Kim, for one, has an important appointment with a pregnancy specialist), but are set to return at the weekend.
Khloe, meanwhile, is refusing to leave Lamar’s side, with Kendall due to fly out to Las Vegas to be with her.
The family have suspended activity on their apps during this time, releasing a statement which reads: “As a family we’ve decided to hold off on publishing content across our apps while we continue to support and pray for Lamar.
“Thank you for your kindness and understanding during this difficult time.”
Kylie Jenner has followed her momager and Rob Kardashian by sharing a photo of herself and Lamar on Instagram, writing: “Let’s dance again together soon. Prayers up for Lamar please.”
Kourtney then posted a lovely photo of Lamar with her son Mason, captioning it: “Believing in the power of prayer for this beautiful soul.”
A source added to ET that the family are ‘devastated’, revealing: “They have tried so hard to help Lamar with his issues and it breaks their hearts that he could lose this battle.
“The entire family is pulling for Lamar to make it through this.”
