Hoping to Catch Taylor Swift on Tour? A Capital One Card May Help

Ever since pop superstar Taylor Swift’s not-so-subtle announcement on “The Tonight Show” last week, Swifties everywhere have been wondering and waiting with bated breath: When’s the tour? As of Nov. 1, 2022, Swift made it official.

Kicking off March 18, 2023, in Glendale, Arizona, the U.S. leg of “The Eras Tour” will include 27 shows in 20 cities, with a rotating cast of special guests joining along the way.

Demand for tickets will be sky-high. It’s Swift’s first time on the road in five years, and with her new album, “Midnights,” she became the first artist to claim all 10 of the top spots on the Billboard Hot 100.

Fortunately for fans, there are some presale options, one of which requires being a customer of Capital One (the presenting sponsor of the tour):

  • Ticketmaster’s TaylorSwiftTix Verified Fan Presale. These will be the first tickets to go live, at 10 a.m. local venue time on Tuesday, Nov. 15. To qualify for purchase under this presale, Verified Fans must preregister by 11:59 p.m. Eastern time on Wednesday, Nov. 9.

  • The Capital One Exclusive Cardholder Presale. The second allotment of tickets goes out to eligible Capital One credit or debit card holders beginning at 2 p.m. local venue time on Tuesday, Nov. 15. More information is below on how to qualify as a cardholder for the presale.

  • Remaining tickets will be released to the public at 10 a.m. local venue time on Friday, Nov. 18.

How to qualify for the Capital One Exclusive Cardholder Presale

Capital One cardholders must visit the ticketing website (see link above) at 2 p.m. local venue time on Nov. 15 and enter the first six digits of their Capital One card number. You’ll need to use your Capital One credit or debit card to complete the purchase, and orders are limited to six tickets per transaction while supplies last.

NerdWallet rating

NerdWallet’s ratings are determined by our editorial team. The scoring formula takes into account the type of card being reviewed (such as cash back, travel or balance transfer) and the card’s rates, fees, rewards and other features.

The presale is available to holders of credit and debit cards issued by Capital One, with the exception of private-label cards — store cards that can be used only at a specific merchant and that don’t bear the Visa or Mastercard label.

If you have multiple Capital One cards to choose from, consider making your ticket purchase with the Capital One Savor Cash Rewards Credit Card. It earns 4% cash back on entertainment purchases, which includes concert tickets, and it’ll also earn 4% back on dining before the show.
