After two years of Covid-19 and lockdown, South African retailers are moving back to the one-day format of Black Fridays past.

However, several big names are blending the old with the new, running month-long deals in a ‘Black November’ style sale, with even bigger deals expected on the day.

Woolworths is following its Black Friday sales format from 2021, unveiling new discounts and deals with each passing week – while Incredible Connection and Hirsch’s have already launched the sales craze.

Other brands will be launching sales sooner than the 25th, with Vodacom promising up to 75% off in its sale launching on 4 November – while others will be extending their deals well into December to capitalise on the festive season shopping rush.

Online retailers are also expected to offer a number of specials on ‘Cyber Monday’, which falls on 28 November 2022.

These are the first batch of Black Friday sales you can get your hands on right now:

Woolworths’ weekly unlocks

Woolworths has unlocked its first batch of Black Friday sales, offering:

  • 30% selected beauty products
  • 20% off selected women’s hats and sneakers (30% for WRewards customers)
  • 3 for 2 on the Elizabeth Arden 8-hour range and
  • 20% off selected cookware and bakeware

The group will unlock more deals as the month progresses and said it has ongoing sales at Woolworths Food.

Incredible Connection – Black Star sale

Gadget and tech retailer, Incredible Connection, is running a November ‘Black Star’ sale, offering specials on laptops, smartphones, printers, watches and more.

The group says it will be offering specials and deals all month long. The prices below are valid to 6 November, with the next set of deals expected to follow.

Hirsch’s Level 1 Black Friday deals

The retailer is offering up to 20% off selected fashion, up to 205 off selected beauty and up to 25% off selected home products.
