I’m an MS1 (First year of med school) working on a HealthTech Startup (early stage) along with my colleagues and at times i can’t help but think whether we can face the competition or not.
We’re interested in Biomedical Research & Applications of AI in Medicine.
I get endless ideas and see problems in Medicine (as an MS1 it’s just breadth, i can go deeper by the time i reach my clinical years) which can be easily addressed through Tech. The possibilities are also endless tbh. But looking at the competition i won’t deny, i’m a little overwhelmed.
HealthTech isn’t as saturated as other fields, yet and it’s gonna explode in future as well. But there are just so many players in the equation. Way too many HealthTech startups running successfully and most of them have already implemented most of the ideas. And there are also MNCs in this game.
At times i wonder what can we do which these people can’t or haven’t done yet? Now that is precisely the answer to my problem. We need to do something they ‘haven’t done yet’. But at this pace i’m a little concerned about the competition. Because more or less someone is gonna have the same idea as us and they’d prolly launch it before us as well.
We simultaneously need something novel and need to get started before someone else does too.
Any advise?
